1969 Road Runner Jamie's Transmission Service In 1960, the Chrysler Corporation first introduced the aluminum 904. Its design has mostly evolved from the earlier version of Chrysler PowerFlite, which is a two speed automatic with the cast-iron three-speed TorqueFlite. This design is quite heavy and yet highly durable. Originally, Dodge/Chrysler 904 featured as a rear hydraulic pump.

The pump was started using the output shaft and hence the TorqueFlites before 1960 had to be actually push-started, which is quite different from the modern versions that use torque converters. Although to some of 904 automatic transmissions appear just like a black magic, in reality, it operates on mechanical and basic hydraulic principles.

Since this version works on basic principles, it can be easily modified to operate at extreme horsepower levels in case you are successful in choosing the right components. The versions of 904 and 727 are almost similar in design however; the components cannot be interchanged except the body of the valve even though their calibration is different from each other.

At Jamie’s Transmission, we have established a creditable name in transmission service & repair, as one of the reputed sales and service companies around.

Transmissions play a crucial mechanical role in cars, trucks and SUV’s alike, and assist vehicles to shift gears smoothly and securely. As any vehicle relies largely on this component, regular inspection and maintenance should be completed by professionals only on a regular basis. As transmissions can be extremely complex, and expensive to replace should something go wrong, a Specialty transmission shop in Marysville can provide professional inspection as needed to ensure your vehicle continues to run properly all year round.

When facing an issue with your transmission, it is best to get the vehicle checked immediately in order to avoid worsening the transmission’s condition and increasing the repair amount.

Skilled mechanics have shared some valid information regarding detection of transmission troubling factors which calls for an urgent repair:

  • Transmission burning smell is a clear sign of damaged transmission
  • Any sort of roughness while driving or some noise is an indication of transmission fault. This can be noticed when the vehicle shifts gears, that can be either when the car is being parked, or is in neutral, reverse or in to drive. During all such action, the gears turn and rotate inside the car. When the transmission is in running condition the rotation is soundless and smooth, but when the transmission’s condition should be inspected, the rotation is noisy and coarse.

Jamie’s Transmission Service offers the most talented and experienced mechanics at our Specialty Transmission Shop in Marysville. Our specialists are highly skilled at detecting and correcting all transmission errors quickly and affordably. Contact us today at (425) 335-0220 to schedule your service or inspection appointment.

Jamie’s Transmission, your Transmission Specialty Shop in Monroe reviews transmissions for 2016. As a family owned business that is dedicated to transmission repair and maintenance, we have a deep interest in new transmission developments.

Some people think that, thanks to the new advances in transmission design that the manual transmission is on its way out. But Forbes, in a review of the F-Type Jaguar praises the model with a manual transmission as being tactile and a pleasure to drive – as well as being less expensive than its cousins that have automatic transmissions. Others tout the fun of driving a vehicle with a manual transmission, especially those who drive the backroads.

For those who prefer automatic transmissions, there are two models to get excited about: the CVT, or continuous variable transmission, and the eight-gear transmission. CVTs have been around for a while, but the design is getting better. Honda Civic, for example, has a CVT transmission. While some people dislike them, others say that they like the smoothness and the gas saving. Two 2016 models of note are coming out with 8-gear transmissions: The Chevy Silverado and the Toyota Land Cruiser.

At Jamie’s Transmission, your transmission specialty shop in Monroe, we are always excited to read and learn about new developments in automobile transmissions. If you would like to learn more about what that could mean for you and your vehicle in 2016, give us a call at (360)568-0220 to discuss your best options for transmission care – whether you choose to keep your current vehicle or you are in the market for a new one, we’ll be glad to discuss your options and help you become informed about your transmission options. If your need transmission repairs, we are your transmission shop.

Jamie's Transmission ServiceThere are quite a few things that could go wrong with your vehicle but when your transmission breaks down this is a sure sign for immediate repairs. You can’t drive without a properly functioning gear box – it’s as simple as that as you won’t be able to shift between your gears thus endangering yourself and everyone in the vehicle. However, there are quite a few things that need to be taken into account so let’s get to it.

Automatic Transmission Repairs

An automatic transmission is one which wouldn’t require you to manually shift between gears. The car is going to detect the most appropriate time to get the shift changed, and it’s going to do so on its own, hence relieving you from the obligation to handle it on your own. There is a lot of merit to using an automatic transmission, and quite a lot of people prefer it because it allows them to stay focused on driving without having to pay attention to the shifting.

Manual Transmission Repair

On the other hand, we’ve got manual transmissions which are designated to function under your command. You would have to press the coupler and shift the gear manually in order for the vehicle to behave properly. These are simpler gear boxes, and they are also quite commonly used, especially outside of the USA as they are cheaper.

However, when it comes to the transmission repair service and its cost, it’s impossible to determine it upfront without a cross-examination first. It’s safe to say that generally, a repair of your automatic transmission is going to be more expensive because there are more electronics involved. However, a manual transmission repair is also capable of being quite expensive, especially if the damage is considerable.

Choose Jamie’s Transmissions

A family-owned business, Jamie’s Transmissions has been in the field for over 29 years. The shop as it is right now is functioning ever since 1988 which is quite remarkable. The company lays a lot of attention on personalized customer service. We take our time to listen to our customers and their worries before we put everything to the test. This allows us to focus on the problems they are concerned with.

If you are wondering about how much the transmission repair would cost you, we have a comprehensive quote-form that you can fill out in a matter of minutes. This is going to help you get an estimation of the total cost, and you can quickly decide whether you can spare the money or not.
