It is an automotive repair shop that specializes in transmissions – manual, automatic and even racing transmissions. Here at Jamie’s we also do a few other repairs as a courtesy to our customers so that they don’t have to try taking their vehicle all over town to everything repaired.

A specialty transmission shop focuses on the parts of your vehicle that are part of the drive train. The drive train is a series of devices that transfers the power from the motor to the wheels of a vehicle. The transmission, which is encased in that big hunk of metal that runs from the motor back toward the rear of the vehicle – the super solid one, not the muffler assembly. Inside that case are gears and levers that select the speed or the rpms. Next to the motor, it is probably one of the most important parts of your vehicle. Even if you have one of the new hybrids, the power from the motor must be translated to the wheels. An all-electric vehicle would work a little differently, but so far we’ve not made the transition from internal combustion motors to electrics. Maybe next year.
